Kyle's Team

Kyle, a fun-loving and active boy with a passion for baseball, was diagnosed in 2013 with Leukemia. Throughout his treatments, Kyle stayed positive in his battle with cancer.

For a day of fun in 2014, Kyle and his family attended Strike Out Cancer Day. Sam Dekker came to meet with families in attendance, taking pictures with each of them and autographing every photo. Kyle was so excited. That day, spent with his family, served as a bright spot in the midst of all his treatments.

Kyle framed that family photo with Sam, and took it to every hospital room he stayed in during treatments. He happily told every doctor and nurse about meeting Sam and showed them the picture.

Kyle lost his battle with cancer in September of 2015, but his spirit lives on in each of the lives he touched. To celebrate Kyle and honor his life, his family came together to attend CCFF’s Strike Out Cancer Day again in 2016. It was a very special day for them as they were able to meet other families going through childhood cancer and share stories. After the family attended the event again in 2017, Kyle’s grandfather shared this about the experience:

“What I have been trying to say is that Kyle’s SPIRIT WAS ALIVE on August 8. Everyday, our family begins and ends by thinking of and missing Kyle. Although it’s been almost 2 years, it still hurts. That’s why Tuesday night at the Rattlers game was so special. Our family was able to take a couple of hours to celebrate Kyle’s life. Baseball was Kyle’s love and passion. I think he was there with us enjoying last night.”
